You have just discovered the best small town in North Mississippi. Snow Lake is a little jewel only 45 minutes from Memphis, TN in time, but a generation away in life style. Things go a little slower here. People still know their neighbors and are concerned about their welfare. This is true of the 300 or so that come to the lake to relax and get away from the fast pace of the big city. That does not mean they have to give up on all the benefits of a larger town. Just the traffic, crime and stoplights! Snow Lake does have a police and fire department, a city water system, garbage pickup and protective ordinances just like our larger neighbors. We just handle things a little differently.

Geographically, we are located in Benton County on Highway 4 twelve miles east of Holly Springs, Ms. It is easy to get here from either highway 72 or 78. The town surrounds a 150-acre lake and in turn is mostly surrounded by the Holly Springs National Forest. The lake is spring fed and is maintained by a homeowner's corporation and is held for the private use of the property owners of Snow Lake. That means the fishing and hunting are good. As mentioned, things go slower here so the speed limit on the lake is only five miles per hour. Motor size is limited to 9.9hp. This keeps the swimmers, fishermen and lakeside property owners happy.
